Weather influences
- On the 1st a high pressure system near New Zealand extended a weak ridge along the east Queensland coast.
- Instability in the region as a surface trough shifted over the south-east of the state before moving offshore late in the evening on the 2nd.
- On the 3rd a high pressure system in the Great Australian Bight extended a strengthening ridge along the east Queensland coast with a stable air mass and extended a firm ridge along the east Queensland coast on the 4th.
- On the 5th and 6th the high pressure system remained slow moving while extending a firm ridge along the east Queensland coast.
- On the 7th and 8th the high pressure system moved into the Tasman Sea and extended a ridge along the east Queensland coast.
- The ridge along the east Queensland coast decayed on the 9th as the high pressure system shifted further east in the Tasman Sea.
- On the 10th a weak ridge remained along the east Queensland coast as a result of a high pressure system in the Great Australian Bight and in south-eastern Australia
- On the 11th the high pressure system shifted eastwards into the Tasman Sea and extended moist onshore flow and a strengthening ridge along the east Queensland coast.
- The high pressure ridge and moist onshore flow started to decay on the 12th and 13th as the high pressure system shifted further east over the Tasman Sea in response to a surface trough shifting eastwards over the interior of the state.
- On the 14th a high pressure system shifted eastwards over the Tasman Sea with the ridge along the east Queensland coast decaying. A surface trough shifted eastwards and approached the south-east late in the day which brought a rain band with and ahead of the trough.
- On the 15th a surface trough extended from the central inland of the state into the far south-east with the coastal section of the trough shifting northwards through the southeast. This extended a south-easterly wind change with the passage of the trough. A high in the Great Australian Bight extended a ridge in the wake of the trough but unstable conditions and cloud remained in the region.
- On the 16th were fresh to strong onshore winds along the southern Queensland coast as a surface trough shifted northwards into central Queensland and a high pressure system in the Great Australian Bight extending a firm ridge with a moist and unstable air mass remaining.
- An upper level low pressure system lied over the southern interior of the state on the 17th along with an inland trough that remained in place that maintained a moist and unstable air mass. A high pressure system that moved into the Tasman Sea extended a ridge along the east Queensland coast.
- On the 18th a pressure system in the Tasman Sea extended a weak ridge along the east Queensland coast with a moist and unstable air mass remaining in place.
- On the 19th a strong high pressure system in the Tasman Sea extended a ridge over eastern Queensland. A surface trough and low pressure system developed along the New South Wales coastline which eased the onshore flow along the southern Queensland coast. However moist onshore flow remained in place in the region with continued instability across much of the state.
- The strong high pressure system in the Tasman Sea continued to extend a ridge along the east Queensland coast on the 20th. A surface trough developed near the southern Queensland coast in the Coral Sea, with moist onshore flow remaining in place.
- On the 21st a strong high pressure system in the southern Tasman Sea maintained a ridge over eastern Queensland, which provided persistent onshore wind flow and abundant tropical moisture over most of the state. Additionally, a coastal trough remained along the southern Queensland coast extending south to along the New South Wales coast. This brought increasing moisture and instability to the region.
- On the 22nd the strong high pressure system in the southern Tasman Sea continued to extend a ridge with moist onshore flow over eastern Queensland and abundant tropical moisture over most of the state. A coastal trough along the southern Queensland coast started to decay and drift southwards into New South Wales. Over the interior of the state a surface and upper level trough shifted eastwards.
- The 23rd saw a strong high pressure system in the southern Tasman Sea extend a ridge of high pressure over eastern Queensland and maintained persistent moist onshore flow and abundant tropical moisture over much of the state. The ridge started to weaken as the high pressure system begins to move eastwards as a trough, strong cold front and associated rain band over the interior of the state to shift eastwards reaching the southeast late in the day.
- On the 24th a trough extended from the northwest to the southeast that cleared the southeast offshore and northwards during the day along with the rainfall associated with the system. A high pressure system in the wake of the trough extended a firm ridge that extended a stable and dry air mass
- On the 25th a high pressure system moving east over southern Australia extended a ridge and a dry and stable air mass over southern and eastern Queensland.
- The high pressure system in the Great Australian Bight and in the Tasman Sea brought a ridge and stable air mass over much of the state on the 27th and 28th.
- On the 29th to 31st the high pressure system moved slowly eastwards over south-eastern Australia and maintained the ridge over most of the state with some moist onshore flow along the east Queensland coast.

Temperature values coloured according to its difference from the long-term average for this month. Outlined value mark highest and lowest values.
Maximum temperatures are measured over the 24 hours from 9 am on the day of measurement. Minimum temperatures are measured over the 24 hours to 9 am of the day of measurement. This was previously different to the official time standards and measured in degrees ºC (before 2018).

Rainfall is measured over 24 hours to 9am and recorded on that day. This is the same as the official time standard and measured in millimetres. Some measurements are not made at 9am and is adjusted based on the automatic record. For other variables see Notes below.
Notes
Based on Bureau of Meteorology Climate summaries (Copyright) of which some data was obtained from. From September 2017 the Bureau of Meteorology Climate summaries were expanded to provide data from official stations in and near the Greater Brisbane “Greater capital city Statistical Area” (GCCSA).
Data Copyright Ferny Grove Weather 2021, Produced 4/7/21. Data Checking has been carried out, but errors may still be present and therefore there is no assurance of correctness. Corrections may be made at a later data if errors or deficiencies are found and/or improvements in data handling techniques are made, though data with major improvements may not be updated in this summary. Data measured with professional moderate accuracy equipment. This replaced non professional equipment of low accuracy with differences in the measured data. The new equipment measures the daily average wind speed and wind run about 40 % higher. Daily rainfall and grass minimum temperature is measured using non-professional equipment of moderate accuracy.
Site Commencement data is April 15 2009 except for daily rainfall which commenced on January 1 1987. Not all variables have been measured over the entire station record. Most variables are measured over a 24 hour period ending in the evening and over a 24 hour period from midnight effective October 5 2018. Maximum temperatures are measured over the 24 hours from 9 am on the day of measurement. Minimum temperatures are measured over the 24 hours to 9 am of the day of measurement. Rainfall is measured over 24 hours to 9am and recorded on that day. This is the same as the official time standard. Some rainfall measurements are not made at 9am and is adjusted based on the automatic record. Minimum Grass Temperature is measured over an approx. 12 hour period ending in the early morning. MSL refers to Mean Sea Level, which is the standard meteorological method of measuring air pressure reduced to sea level based on both elevation and temperature. Grass Minimum Depression is the difference of the grass minimum temperature from the air temperatures and is a positive value when the grass temperature is below the air temperature.
Up until March 9 2019 automatic records as Dew Point, Average Wind Speed, Dominant Wind Direction, Wind Run, Rain Rate and Hourly Rain are measured over a 24 hour period starting at midnight and recorded for that day. This started on the 6 October 2011. The automatic record is used for some data and also may be used if data is not available/ not suitable. From March 9 2019 the automatic record became the official record instead, simplifying this process. Until replaced on 5 October 2018 the temperature and humidity sensor is under exposed so minimum temperature and maximum humidity are incorrect and low accuracy rain gauge is used which are not used as the site’s official record. This data limitation does not apply to other measurements of temperatures, air pressure and humidity, wind gust, daily and monthly rainfall and rain days elsewhere in this summary which are recorded separately and form the official record for this site. The replacement equipment is sited in more exposed locations and therefore the limitations don’t apply, though the automatic daily rainfall doesn’t form the official data for the site.
Long term averages are based on all available long period past measurements from October 2019 whilst for non automatic rainfall is based on 1987 to 2017 average from the station record. Prior to this the long term average for Temperature, Relative Humidity and Air pressure is based on 2009 to 2015 average from the station record and wind speed is based on the 2010 to 2018 average from station record. Wind Run is 2011 to 2018 and Rain Rate and High Hourly Rain is 2011 to 2017.
The Fraction of monthly average expresses how much has fallen in respect to the long term average listed as a percentage. The decile ranking compares the rainfall total to the historical record for the site where the record is divided into 10 equal groups. Decile 1 is the lowest 10% of the record (10th percentile) and Decile 10 (90th percentile) is the highest 10% of the record. Decile 1 is considered “very low”, decile 2 and 3 “low”, decile 4 to 7 “average”, decile 8 and 9 “high” and decile 10 “very high”.
